I love all kinds of music, and I love to find certain songs that I can write scenes to, whether it's a fight scene, a love scene, or even a dramatic scene. And I was fortunate enough to come across a song that was released by Chris Young in 2021. Right now, I'm slightly addicted to it. Have a listen and see what you think!

I listen to music all the time, and so my favorites tend to rotate as I’m always finding new music. The favorites I list today may not be my favorites a week from now. And I have very eclectic tastes. But here you go!
Let Me Hold you by Josh Krajcik. This song just captivates me. I can listen to it on repeat. Army by Lady Antebellum. Such a powerful romantic song, and I’m not normally into country music. This one, though, doesn’t have the twangy sounds, though. Hurt by Lady Antebellum. A soulful song that is perfect to listen to when writing certain scenes. I Get To Love You by Ruelle. This one, I think, will always be one of my favorites. It feels like a wedding song. Natural by Imagine Dragons. It’s by Imagine Dragons, and I like almost every one of their songs so it’s no surprise that one of theirs made it onto the list! I don't know what else to say about this song, but wow. The power of connection can heal a lot of wounds. And this guy's voice is phenomenal. that touch you, that stay with you long after the last note ends. That song, for me, is I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe. I usually play it on repeat when I'm on longer trips. The lyrics are both powerful and hopeful, offering a promise of what's to come. Having lost two friends within the last two years, it reminds me that I'll see them again. I have an addictive personality when it comes to songs. If I hear one I like, I will play it on repeat for quite some time. Recently, I discovered one of those songs which I've now memorized. Weirdly, I love the song, but I prefer a cover of the song by Colton Haynes and Travis Atreo. The song is "Craving You", originally by Thomas Rhett. See if you feel the same way about it! Here is the original song sung by Thomas Rhett. I'd love to hear which one you prefer! Everyone has bad days now and again no matter how good our life is going. And there are times when you just have to ride out the misery, but there is one thing I can do that instantly lifts my spirits. Well, two things actually. I either sing or listen to music. It instantly recharges me. Years ago, I sang in my church choir, and I miss it now. I miss the joy of joining in with a dozen or so other voices and just singing at the top of my lungs. Now, I do that in my car or while I'm getting ready in the morning. I sing to my cat, to my friends on the phone, or while I'm pumping gas. And in the midst of a day that isn't going so well, I start to smile. As the picture says, music heals the soul. I believe that, and when I can't sing because of where I am at the moment, I plug in my headphones and listen to music. Pretty soon, the words are resounding in my head and blocking out any negative emotions. Right now, I'm addicted to Imagine Dragons. Their songs, Demons, Radioactive, I Bet My Life, Warriors, and Ready, Aim, Fire, are some of my go-tos when I want to change my mood! Today I'm supposed to write about three songs I've written to this past week. And here they are:
If You Ever Leave Me by Vince Gil and Barbra Streisand Girl Crush by Little Big Town Talk Show Sshh by Shae Jones These were used while I was writing the 3rd book in the Discovering Emily series as well as a brand new book in an Assassins series!
There are very few bands that I can honestly say I love pretty much all of their music. Imagine Dragons is one of those bands for me. I'm addicted to their music, and I love to write to their songs! Take a listen to one of my favorites below! Enjoy!
