Establishing laws has to be a challenging tasks. Whatever you decide is going to affect everyone within that county, state, or country. So doing so should include vast amounts of wisdom and thought. I don't think I'd be any good at making laws because I'd want to eliminate things that woul affect my irrational desire for a Utopian society. I'd want unkindness to be illegal, but how do you enforce that? And who decides if a person is being unkind or brutally honest?
Or I might choose to enact a law that only adheres to my beliefs. How equitable would that be? So I'm actually going to skip answering this question today on the grounds that I know I'm not the right person to be responsible for making the law of the land.

I've been extremely blessed this week and the previous week to be around my friends every single day. Two of my favorite people came from Raleigh to put up the backsplash in my kitchen and finish some other tasks. They did so much work and wouldn't allow me to pay them because that's the kind of people they are. I'm so very blessed to have them in my life. So who did I hug today? A friend I've known for thirty-four years and hope to know for thirty-four more.
This day's blog post is fun! For a long, long, long time I've wanted to go to New Zealand. It's on my bucket list, and I still hope to get there one day. Just take a look at the picture below. It's a beautiful country, and I've read and heard a lot about the people and the culture there. It's definitely a place I want to go in my lifetime!
At the start of every year, I create a list of goals I want to reach by the end of the year. I did that at the start of 2019 then a couple of weeks ago, I set a new goal—to become a certified financial coach by the end of the year. I have been helping people with their financial situations for several years now, and I decided I wanted to know more about the subject so I could help them better. I already write a lot about finances and debt on my blog for single women, A Journey of Fives. So as of today, I'm almost halfway through the course, and I'm enjoying it so much I will, most likely, enroll in other financial courses once I'm done.
I've always loved learning, and I usually enroll in one or two classes a year, more if my schedule will allow it. I don't think we should ever stop learning. At present, I'm enrolled in four courses, all of which will help my career as a writer and enable me to help more people. What goals do you set for yourself? Do you try to continue learning every year? I read a lot of blogs, and it's difficult for me to choose just three that I love to read. I love to read all the ones I read. But since the challenge calls for three, here goes in no particular order: 1. Retro Housewife Goes Green (https://retrohousewifegoesgreen.com/) I'm not a housewife, but I still enjoy reading about how things were done decades ago. And I've learned a lot from her 1950s housewife tips! Check out this post about cleaning tips you should steal from grandma! 2. Anne R. Allen (https://annerallen.com/)All writers should be following this blog, especially those who have gone down the indie path. The treasure trove of wisdom you find here is unparalleled. One of my favorite posts is from 2017, and it teaches authors what they should and shouldn't blog about. Granted, I don't follow all of the advice as I do blog about my faith. :-)
3. And the final one is Success (https://www.success.com/blog/). I love success.com and read it faithfully. The blog is filled with thought-provoking, common sense posts that will make you change the way you view yourself and the world. It covers everything from finances to self-motivation. You can't read it without learning something! One post that everyone should read, in my opinion, is a new one from May--What To Do When You Make a Bad Decision. These blogs offer something for everyone and are three that I return to time and again. Hope you'll check them out! As a massive fan of superhero movies and television shows, this is something I've actually thought about. Yes, I know it'll never happen, but sometimes it's fun to dream. There are so many superpowers I'd love to have. Superspeed would be awesome! Can you imagine getting everything you need done in seconds? Never having to be late again? And then there's superhealing. Breaking a bone would only be a minor inconvenience. Would definitely be a plus for my clumsy self.
On the other hand, there are superpowers I wouldn't want to have. Superhearing? No, thanks. I wouldn't want to listen in on conversations that were none of my business or hear the cries for help knowing I could do nothing about it. And x-ray vision is out, too. There are some things we just aren't meant to see. Still, after all the times I've thought about it, I still come up with one answer. I'd love to be able to fly. To go anywhere I wanted to go at any time without having to worry about how I'm going to get there, that would be incredible, especially since I love to travel. I'd be able to see the entire world without breaking the bank! What about you? What superpower would you like to have? This is an appropriate post as I'm in the midst of renovating my home. I've lived here for almost 6 1/2 years, and I recently decided it was time to upgrade. So in came the granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood flooring. It's been both a blessing and a challenge. Below are a few before and after pictures! I'll have plenty more to share once this roller coaster is over! Suffice it to say this has been a learning experience!
One of my closest friends is adopting a little girl who is now a little over two years old. Being around her can make any bad day into a good one. She's so full of life and questions and has such a uniqueness about her. It's hard not to smile when she's in the room. There have been many times when I've called my friend to ask if I could come see her daughter because I know she will brighten my day. And she always does!
This is about to be the most boring blog post ever because I have a bland routine that's simply, coffee, brushing teeth, getting dressed, and putting on make-up. There's absolutely nothing else I have to do in the morning, which is a good thing because I'm not a morning person!
I do as much as I can at night so I won't have to do it in the morning, including my writing, reading, any classes I'm taking, scheduling blog content (including this blog post), marketing, showering, getting things ready for the morning, and spending time with God. Literally, everything happens at night as I am not all that functional in the morning. How about you? Are you a morning person? I'm starting June off with another 30-day blogging challenge! Today's subject is something that is beautiful to me. Choosing only one thing is a definite challenge because I see so much beauty in the world. If I were to choose something tactile, it would be the feel of sand beneath my feet. My choice for something intangible would be space as it offers infinite possibilities. But there is so much more beauty I see, feel, hear, and touch! The smile on a child's face, a night sky, a full moon, the scent of freshly baked bread, the sound of a train rumbling across the tracks, and the feel of cool sheets against my skin. These all may seem like simple things, but that's usually where I find the most beauty. How about you?
